For Graduate Students: An affirmation that they meet eligibility requirements per EMDRIA’s policy as follows: Qualifying graduate students must be enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychiatry, Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work) or related mental health discipline. Students must have completed their core graduate academic coursework and must be in the practicum/internship portion of their graduate program. First year graduate students are not eligible. Graduate students must be on a licensing track and working under the supervision of a fully licensed mental health clinician.

EMDR Basic Training

• This SUMA Trauma Center Training & Consultation EMDR Basic Training is EMDRIA Approved. It has been developed and is led by Dr. Suzanne Mata, an expert in EMDR. Dr. Mata specializes in Attachment and Developmental Trauma, Complex Trauma and Dissociation presentations. She emphasizes Somatic, Mindfulness, and Parts focused approaches to all eight phases of EMDR with her clients, and in her consultations.

What you'll get:

Instructional (20 hours) (live instruction and self-directed required reading)
Practicum (20 hours) - live
Consultation (10 hours) – live, five total, monthly, two-hour virtual consultation group-format on zoom. Consultation hours are included at no extra cost and with no further time required beyond the 50 hours of training.

Participants will receive a final EMDR Basic Training Certificate of Completion within two weeks of completing the entire (50 hour minimum - including completion of all required consultations) course and all components.

This is an EMDRIA Approved Virtual EMDR Training conducted over two three-day weekends from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm PST each day. Virtual Consultations are scheduled after Weekend One. There are a total of five two-hour Consultations. In-person training conducted for groups upon request. Please contact us to arrange in person trainings.
